An effective "one material" fly.
Chickabugger |
When I fish lakes, I really like to have something in my box that is different from the typical brown, black, and olive wooly buggers that are commonly sold at shops. When I got my first pelt of Whiting Soft Hackle with Chick-a-bou, I immediately started thinking of stillwater applications for it. I wanted to tie something that was super simple and very effective, so I think you will see this in the Chick-a-Bugger. This can be modified in size and color to fish like a leech, damsel, or even a small minnow. All I know, is that there are a ton of moving parts that the fish love.

Have you guys purchased from/had a good experience with Feather Emporium. I had a friend order some stuff without much issue, but I've seen mixed reviews online.
ReplyDeleteI have never ordered from them. I mostly posted the link for those who don't have local shops with a good selection. Luckily Fish Tech Outfitters in SLC has the best selection I have ever seen.

ReplyDeleteNo rib? A one fish fly before it gets destroyed, I know it takes half a minute to tie, but will it last?
ReplyDeleteIf you listen to the video, I explain that you can add a rib or some superglue to the shank before wrapping it. That being said, the CDL stem is much more durable than you think.
Deletewhat color is that hackle?
