Flies for "Bluegill Patrol"
In an effort to always extend my creative juices I have created flies that just weren't "right." they
were either too radical, out of proportion, or just otherwise crappy... Thankfully the good Lord has
blessed us snooty trout anglers with the bluegill. Well, that's what we call them here in Utah, but whether you call them bluegill, bream, brim, shellcrackers, sunfish, perch (yes, some people call bluegill perch... Like for reals), there will always be a special lineup of flies that we can wholeheartedly assign to the "bluegill patrol." With a reputation for not being too fussy and eating flashy offerings, bluegill can be anything from a confidence building fish that will put some bendo in your rod with little effort, to a species that you will search out long into your adulthood.

We absolutely love to fish for bluegill, and instead of just throwing flies of the peasantry to them, we have spent time deliberately tying flies just for bluegill (even though Curtis likes to catch trout on them on accident... Noob.) Here are some fun offerings that you can tie in no time, and that will keep you entertained with the most forgiving fish on the planet.
