Add Extra Bugginess to a Killer

The X Caddis is already a staple in most of our caddis boxes due to it's simple design and maximum effectiveness.  In my opinion, there is something to be said about appendages on a caddis pattern that really make them appealing to the trout, so I decided to add a little bit of bugginess to the X Caddis.  Adding a simple soft hackle under the wing is really simple and can be done with a variety of soft hackle materials, but the dark brown dun hen cape that I use is really hard to beat because it's brown on one side and gray on the other (kind of covering the caddis bases...)  Anyway, this fly it super simple to tie, and can add some leggy action to an already effective pattern!
