Drunk Drea - Streamer Pattern

Hold ON... Shhhhhhhh.  Lemme Tell You Something

If you haven't caught on yet, I have been naming flies after my coworkers that I used to work with in HR.  The Squatchy B, the Slick Willie, and now the Drunk Drea.  (Still one more to go.)  This fly was created because I wanted a slim single hooked fly that I could fish on a double streamer rig.  I had also been playing a lot with the Loon D-Loop Tweezers, so the creative juices were flowing at 5,000 CFS.  Before I get too far into this, I need to give the OPST guys a shout specifically Jerry French for posting great videos on how to build a composite loop!  Such a cool way to build flies.

This fly was just a freestyle with a bunch of colors of junk in a loop, but then I fished it (See fishing video below) and realized that it has special powers with the fish.  It goes really really slim when it's stripped, but it opens up on the pause, giving it a ton of movement that the fish can't handle.  It's tied in a ginger format in the video, but I have also messed with olive and burnt orange, black and purple, and black and brown.  You can customize the bug very easily, and the best part is that it holds up extremely well even with the toothiest of trout! Happy Tying.
