Because Good Enough... Really Is!
In the search for a fly that hits the "bare minimum" standards of being a fly but it still catches fish, this one ranks about a 9/10. Two materials and a dollop of resin and you are off fishing. I have tied this fly in a wide range of colors and even with a lead under body or a tungsten bead in the thorax. I have been on such a squirrel kick lately, I wanted to find a fly that I could tie mostly out of squirrel, but that had some good overall shape and texture. This will be all over in my stillwater boxes, and I plan on using it a lot as a dropper on a midge tip rig. Other colors to try are olive, claret, purple, and black! Have fun tying them and get them wet!!
